Communication

Rowan County will provide you with numerous ways to communicate with the community. We have many broadcasting facilities, television stations, newspapers, telegraph services, and telephone companies servicing our area. We have what you need to effectively communicate with our community.

Rowan Jobs Initiative

The Rowan Jobs Initiative (RJI) is a public-private partnership to market the Salisbury-Rowan community. It has created a branding, marketing and advertising campaign directed towards Rowan residents, site selection consultants, brokers and new and expanding firms. Various delivery methods are being utlitzed in the campaign including highway billboards, direct mail and magazine placement.

Broadcast Facilities

Four AM radio stations with local studios (WSTP, WSAT, WRNA, WNDN).
The School System is provided a channel in the local cable television system and does periodic local programming during the school year.
Catawba College has a small FM educational station which operates on an evening schedule during the school year.

Greensboro: WFMY (CBS)
High Point: WGHP (ABC)
Winston Salem: WXII (NBC)

Public television programming is available on VHF Channel 4, UHF Channel 42, and UHF Channel 58. Time Warner Cable Television is available with a wide range of channels from which to choose.

Newspapers Serving the Area

The Salisbury Post - 25,775 circulation (afternoon and Sunday).
Area daily newspapers with Salisbury-Rowan readership include: Charlotte Observer, Greensboro Daily News, Winston Salem Journal, and the Independent Tribune.
