Summit Corporate Center, which is owned and developed by Rowan County, is a 612 acre industrial park located on Interstate 85 and Julian Road (Exit 74), and is included in a Development Zone.   The property is divided into three parcels and is bordered by Julian, Ritchie, Old Concord and Heilig Roads. The park was announced in 1996 with infrastructure development beginning in late 1996. Water and sewer installation as well as electrical distribution service and new substation are underway. A 750,000 gallon elevated storage tank will be completed in March 1997. Protective covenants are identified with no metal buildings permitted in the development. The property is designed for medium to large acreage users in the 25 to 80 acre range with just a few smaller parcels as small as 2 acres. Upper end development is sought for the park.  No rail service is available to the property.
Square D expanded their Salisbury operations and moved into a new building in the park.
